Edinburgh-born fiddle player Sally Simpson holds connection to place, people and stories at the core of her creative practice. She was drawn to folk music at an early age, inspired by hearing her father and aunt playing tunes together at family gatherings. Sally performs internationally with folk quartet Westward the Light, innovative piper Malin Lewis and as a theatre and session musician. Her debut solo album is due out in 2027.

 Training: National Centre for Excellence in Traditional Music, Royal Conservatoire of Scotland, and Stockholm’s Kungliga Musikhögskolan.
